Robotics For All Internships |

Overview
Interns at Robotics For All are in charge of ensuring that our organization can continue to run. They fill many vital roles throughout the organization. Some of the most important tasks that Interns complete include curriculum development, cold emailing, interviewing, marketing work, and more. Interns are assigned to work on a specific task in 8-week cycles, and can choose from a variety of tasks. Interns at Robotics for All also help with two other branches of our organization, Tutoring For All and Mentoring For All. Although unpaid, interns will gain valuable insight into how a growing startup nonprofit organization runs. High school and college students are welcome to apply.

Internship Information
- Interns are assigned to work on a specific task in 8-week cycles in one of 3 areas: Business Development, Technical, or Marketing/Design.
- Our next starting dates are as follows:
- Winter Cycle 1: January 18th to March 14th
- Spring Cycle 1: March 14th to June 6th
- After an 8-week cycle, a subset of interns may be invited back for the next cycle. Interns may choose to accept or reject this offer, though paid positions will not be offered to interns in the foreseeable future.
- Once interns have been accepted to one of our specific areas, interns will be able to show preference to whichever tasks they would like to work on, and will be assigned accordingly with a team with other volunteers to work on a particular task.
- While we do our best to assign tasks based on your preference, this is not guaranteed.
- Technical Interns will be guaranteed the task that they apply for.
- We will support interns in many ways including:
- Providing training/orientation for any tasks that interns wish to work on.
- Assigning interns to two mentors who will assist them (a Task Lead and an Intern Lead).
- Providing formal feedback at various intervals.
- Organizing social activities with other interns and volunteers
- There will also be various sub-tasks available for all interns to work on during every cycle, if interns would like to commit to additional responsibilities.
- A majority of internships end with a final project/presentation that each intern is required to complete. Each team has a slightly different project.
- At the end of the internship cycle, interns will be evaluated based on their overall work on their task throughout their cycle. Interns will be given a decision on whether they will be invited back for the next 8-week internship cycle at Robotics For All.
- If invited back, interns can choose to work on a different task or continue on their current task.
- After 2 internship cycles, interns have "graduated" as interns and may be eligible to take on leadership positions at Robotics For All.
- 3-5 hours/week
- Time commitment will vary depending on task, but most work can be done asynchronously and at flexible hours.
- Interns will be able to use our Slack workspace as a primary source of communication, and must be able to check Slack at least every 24 hours
- Weekly Team Meetings
- Each intern group will have mandatory weekly meetings to check in and discuss task progress.
- All meetings are scheduled with the Pacific Time and Eastern Time zones in mind. If you live outside of the US, please keep this time difference in mind.
- This is a volunteer opportunity, so it is unpaid. However, you will earn community service hours for all work.
- Interning at Robotics for All will look good on any resume, whether applying for a future internship, job, or college.
- Gain valuable insight into how a growing startup nonprofit organization runs.
- Potential future leadership opportunities (Robotics for All board, Team Lead, etc.) may be offered.
- Experience the satisfaction of improving your local community.
- Earn a recommendation letter from one of Robotics for All's leadership members.
- Current High School or College Student (exceptions may be made, on rare occasion, for 8th graders with a volunteering background)
- College Graduates, we would still love to work with you! Please email ben@roboticsforall.net if you are interested in working with us.
- Consistent access to a computer and stable internet
- Must be able to fully commit to a task in an 8-week cycle and attend weekly meetings
- Having experience in any of the following will be highly useful for all tasks, although each of our tasks will require different skill sets:
- Strong communication and organization skills
- The ability to work effectively in a team
- Strong work ethic and responsibility
- Strong planning and critical thinking skills
- Google Drive, Docs, Slides, and other related web applications
